10 places to avoid on a first date.

Hello everyone, Here's what I came across in the internet. Have fun reading it & its so true. I'd love to hear what you guys think about it.

In a recent survey done by an online dating service, respondents indicated what kinds of places they would avoid on a first date. The top ten picks may surprise you.

1- Family functions: Avoid any family dinners/weddings/reunions like the plague! At 81 per cent, a family get-together was chosen as the biggest first date no-no by respondents. Your date will be nervous enough trying to impress you. He or she does not need the added pressure of auditioning for your family and friends as well. It can also be an embarrassing situation for you. Most families have their skeletons in the closet and black sheep and it might be too much for your date. Save meeting the family until you have been dating for a while.

2- Dance Clubs: Picture this: pounding music, blinding strobe lights and a whole bunch of scantily clad people bumping and grinding. Need I say more? Plus, your dance moves might not be as smooth as you think.

3- Bars: Some people think that alcohol is the perfect social lubricant for a first date, but it can lead to serious trouble. You might say or do something foolish. When you are drunk, everything you say and do seems super cool and funny, but when the beer-goggles wear off, you don’t want to look back and regret any decisions you made.

4- Movies: Although cheesy TV shows depict the movies as the perfect first date, the hopes of making a love connection by accidentally grazing hands when you reach into the popcorn is weak. You aren’t allowed to talk and you spend two hours sitting stiffly beside each other, staring at a screen. It gives you little chance to get to know each other and make a real connection.

5- Sporting Events: A date that involves face paint, the wave and angry drunk guys screaming at the referee is no place to make a love connection. Guys who were interviewed for the survey admit that sports don’t bring out the best in men. They may come off as too aggressive and women might find that unattractive.

6- The Beach: It might seem like a romantic idea: strolling bare feet on the seaside, playfully splashing one another, then falling into the waves in a passionate kiss. But a good number of survey respondents wouldn’t want to do this on a first date. It can be intimidating wearing a bathing suit and revealing so much so soon.

7- Mini Golf: Trying to outsmart that windmill or flirting by showing your date how to swing a golf club may seem like a cute idea, but respondents say it is a childish plan for a first date. Taking your date to a cheesy restaurant where your waiter is dressed up like a medieval knight, Fred Flintstone or a pirate with a stuffed parrot on his shoulder is definitely not a recipe for romance.

8- Museums: You should be able to relax and have fun on a first date. Many people cite sense of humour as the number one quality they look for in a mate. A solemn, serious museum is not an ideal place to show off your funny side.

9- Coffee Houses: You might think coffee is an easy, laid-back way to meet and get to know each other, but survey respondents say it lacks creativity and effort. It’s definitely not a romantic setting to sweep him or her off their feet.

10- Where not to take your date: So, you might be thinking, “Where does that leave to take my date?!” Be creative and think outside of the box. Maybe a carnival or amusement park is the place for you. How about a double-date with some close friends. Or stick with the tried-and-true and head over to a classy restaurant.

Thanxs for reading!
